The Ed Ladder will be contracted per Title I Part A, Neglected and Homeless Youth funding to provide tutoring and mentoring services to identified students during the 2023-2024 school year.
As mandated under Title I Guidance, a Local Education Agency (LEA) must provide services to Neglected and Homeless Youth. Sweetwater Union High School District will provide tutoring and mentoring services via The Ed Ladder to identified students outside of the school day in students’ homes, residential facilities and/or at district identified locations. Student progress and participation will be monitored. The Ed Ladder has been providing tutoring services in San Diego since 1986 and is independently owned and operated. Their skilled and experienced tutors work one-on-one to provide academic support for students.
This Board Agenda Item supports LCAP Goal 1, teaching and learning, because it provides students experiencing the foster care system and students experiencing homelessness the opportunity to receive academic support through tutoring services.
